About

Let’s introduce myself a bit, I’m Ramon van Bruggen. I am a Microsoft.NET / GIS Developer with a passion for gadgets and electronics (I know my interests are all over the place). I work at Capgemini Netherlands and most of the time I’m busy developing GIS software in .NET or Silverlight.

When I’m not a work I still like programming, I have made several programs that I no longer support, but were very fun to build and got quite some attention from several Dutch magazines, so that’s nice!

UNA:

UNA, Usenet Automation was one tool I made.

MCE Tuner Extender:

The other tool I made is called: MCE Tuner Extender, it was used for Windows MediaCenter 2005 and Vista when they did not support more then 2 TV tuners.

I really had a blast making those tools and was very surprised by the attention they got! I guess people needed the tools as much as I did.
The last version I developed can still be downloaded here: http://www.softpedia.com/get/System/OS-Enhancements/MCE-Tuner-Extender.shtml

Another passion beside developing software are electronics, I like to make my one PCB’s and solder everything on it, I’m not a professional, but I can Etch my own PCB’s and create my own schematics using Eagle CAD.
These are a few examples of projects I have made, I did not design and developed these projects other people did, this are just examples of things I build:

Webservers:

I made several webservers not larger than a credit card, I used these very small webservers to control stuff in my house, I could control my heating an lights of my home over the internet! Very cool stuff!
